Eating Out: Austin's Domain

So it's no secret I love filling my belly. Like, eating is at the top of my list so whenever I have the opportunity to do so I take it! The beautiful Scherelle and I tried a few of the Domain eateries out.. Here's how they stacked up..

Toulouse Cafe and Bar || My Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

Okay. So I think I'm a pretty fair girl. I usually wouldn't rate any business this low if they were at least decent but I wanted y'all to know that I called Chief and Toulouse wasn't it! The 1 star I gave them was literally because the food was pretty. Plating was gorgeous. ...but the taste?! This shit ain't have salt. pepper. paprika. sazon.

None. of. it.

Scherelle and I had the Eggs Benedict (pictured above) from the Brunch menu. It was bland. Also ordered: French toast and the Smoked salmon crepe.

Second Bar & Kitchen || My Rating: ★★★★☆

You might see a trend: if there are poached eggs or eggs benedict on a menu I'm ordering it, lol. Pictured above is the Seared Salmon and Eggs from the brunch menu. The rice and salmon was really good! I had the House benedict (SBK Benedict) and although it was 10x better than Toulouse's benedict it didn't hold a candle to The Grove's (mentioned in my previous post). My son ordered their French toast, and low key it may have been the best thing to hit the table. This wasn't ordinary toast. The shit was two steps from legendary. Aside from the food, the vibe in SBK was pretty chill. I live for a good ambience..

Perry's Steakhouse & Grille || My Rating: ★★★★★

The service, presentation and taste were all top tier. Like, the only reason I would think of giving Perry's 4 stars is because of the price. They are not for the light-weighted pocket but then they do not pretend to be either. Also ordered: the lobster bisque, surf & turf pasta, lobster mac & cheese as well as the double cut lamb chops (pictured above). Each bit of it tasted just as amazing as it was supposed too. We enjoyed everything that hit the table and I'd recommend Perry's 10x out 10, PERIODT.

Quite frankly we haven't even began to touch on all the places we want to try in Austin. I'm pretty sure this will be the start of an on-going series. Hope you guys enjoyed this. I definitely enjoyed eating, lol. Are there any places in Austin or the surrounding areas that you think we should try? If yes, leave them in a comment below.

xo,

Glen
